Sore Bottom

I don't want to get up from my chair. My rear end aches after landing on it as a result of a collision in a pick-up basketball game. I'm going to be sore tomorrow. I worked for grounds, raking leaves and hauling uprooted plants. Then I played b-ball (that's a picture of me playing)and then I tried to go for a jog with a friend. I pooped out on the jog kind of early because my body was tired.

Classes start a week from tomorrow. I've been staying busy working, returning phone calls and e-mails, writing thank you notes, helping new students move in, and so on.

I ate some potato soup tonight. It was OK. Warm soup was better than granola bars all the time. I forgot to mention, the cafeteria doesn't open until Wednesday.

That's all for now.

I'm Back

I arrived in St. Louis yesterday around 6 p.m. after the usual 11-hour drive. Derek, the roommate, was in the room as I walked in. Good to see him again. He stayed here during the summer, so I didn't have to pack up all my belongings.

I woke up this morning to the sound of little kids going to school, I guess. I felt weird waking up here after being at home all summer. I need a dog in my dorm room, but they don't allow that. I told Dave, DCE from home church, that I should get a fish tank like him. That might be cool. I'm not sure where I'd put it.

Today, I need to write thank you notes. I think I'll do some reading and maybe explore new places in St. Louis. Hope you have a good day. Thanks for reading.

Wow

At church Sunday, there was a free-will offering for me as I head back to school. Glynn, our business director, told me the total (including $400 from Thrivent): $2,100. I just walked back to my office with some of the money. I'm looking at checks for $200, $100, $50.... I don't deserve this.

Thank you. So much.

Welcome

Hey! Thanks for checking out my blog. I'll use this to keep in touch while I'm in St. Louis. Please feel free to leave comments. I'll try to write interesting things. I'm sure year two of sem will provide plenty of things to write about. Have a great day.
